Workshop

Upcoming: A second edition of the workshop will take place in fall 2026! As part of the 'Weekend van de Wetenschap', the Upcycled Clinic offers this activity where children are invited to reimagine, draw, map and reinvent the objects of the hospital.

More information
A hospital is preserved, afloat, after the Earth is flooded beneath seven miles of water. Inside, assailed by mysterious forces, doctors and patients are left to remember the world they've lost and to imagine one to come….” (from the blurb for The Children's Hospital, by Chris Adrian)

In this mysterious floating hospital, everything is reversed. The sick kids are in charge! At this station children are invited to collectively reimagine, draw, map and reinvent the objects of the hospital.

Put on a magical doctor's coat, sprinkle some fairy dust on clinical objects and let your inventor streak run wild.

· What would your dream hospital look like?

· What departments are missing?

· How would you reimagine everyday things in the hospital like gloves, stethoscopes and trolleys?

Activity runs the whole day, drop in whenever you like. Parents and siblings welcome!

Languages: Dutch and English. This activity is led by Anna Harris, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. It is part of The Upcycled Clinic, funded by the European Research Council.
